The CHIC.AF Guide to a Better City Weekend

Forty-eight hours is enough when you stop trying to “see everything.”

The best city weekends have rhythm. You arrive, get oriented, find one excellent meal, sleep properly, then build the next day around a neighborhood rather than a checklist.

Choose the hotel for the weekend you want

If you plan to walk, location should outrank the size of the spa. If the hotel itself is the destination, reverse that logic. The mistake is paying for an amenity profile that belongs to a different trip.

Book only the pressure points

Reserve the restaurant that genuinely fills up, the timed museum ticket and the experience that cannot be improvised. Leave breakfast, coffee, shopping and at least one meal open. A city needs space to surprise you.

Cluster the map

Crossing town repeatedly is the fastest way to spend a weekend looking at traffic. Group your choices by neighborhood and let walking become part of the itinerary. You will notice more and arrive less annoyed.

Create one ritual

A drink at the hotel bar before dinner. A morning walk before everyone else is out. Buying a book in every city. Ritual gives short trips continuity — and makes them feel like yours.
